Kathy Tomaszewski, LL.B., LL.M (Harvard), counsel to Cobalt, is a lawyer specializing in corporate and commercial law. While studying at Western, Kathy worked for two summers in tax and litigation for a seven sisters law firm. After graduating with the gold medal for the highest average in her graduating class, and before heading off for graduate studies at Harvard, Kathy clerked for the Chief Justice of Canada, the late Honourable Bora Laskin, at the Supreme Court of Canada. Kathy began her legal career as a full-time law professor at Western University, was awarded tenure at an early point in her career, and for 10 years enjoyed teaching and publishing in the fields of constitutional, corporate, commercial, securities and secured transactions. Kathy has consulted for the Ontario Securities Commission, the Ontario Human Rights Commission, and has been a member of the board of various charitable organizations. In addition to her legal career, Kathy has been extensively involved with private education and the needs of individuals with learning and developmental challenges.
