Karen Dawson, J.D., LL.M., counsel to Cobalt, is a lawyer whose practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation. She has particular expertise in the technology sectors, and in IP licensing and distribution agreements. She has extensive experience with IT arbitrations, including lengthy IT arbitration proceedings. Karen has represented individuals and companies in proceedings before all levels of Ontario Courts, including the Court of Appeal. Many of her cases have been litigated before the Commercial List, a specialized branch of the Superior Court of Justice.
Karen was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2007 and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2006 and her Master of Laws in Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014. Prior to working as litigation counsel to Cobalt, Karen practised litigation at a Bay Street law firm.
